More Snow and Less Ear

The garden and the goat fence are buried!

It’s been a great winter here in Shrewsbury, but all the snow has caused a few farm complications.  I built the goat fence over four feet high, expecting a foot or two of pack and having to shovel around the inside perimeter.  As you can see, there is no hope in shoveling out the pen and I have instead resorted to piling pallets and scrap wood up against the fence so that Caspian can’t leap out.  I’m sure we’ll need to get creative again soon — it’s only February!

Winter Wonderland

And finally, Caspian has lost the top half of her ear after a minor head-butting / wrestling match.  We feel that it gives her some moxie.

Check back soon for more updates!
