Minny is an Oberhasli from Consider Bardwell Farm in West Pawlet, Vermont. She is registered with the American Dairy Goat Association so we’re going to stick with the name.
We decided on this late addition to the herd because she is bred to kid in March which allows the original four to grow for another ten months before breeding — and means we’ll have kids and milk in March! The Oberhasli breed has a reputation for being calmer and easier to fence in than Alpines (the breed of the other four goats)… we’ll see about that.
Fluffhead has shown her usual graciousness headbutting Minny away from the hay feeder, the rock, the shed, etc. KABAJ and Barnum seem to be rather accepting and Minny has already caught on to the herd pecking order and joins in chasing poor Princess Caspian under the hay feeder.
